As I am the mother of a young child, I don’t get time away from the family often. My first night away, I took a trip to Salt Spring Island to make a video about my sister, Evelyn Russell. I have always found my sister’s artwork and technique very interesting and different. I wanted to find out more about how she makes her art, and I thought more people would like to know too.
To get a complete and thorough story, I had to go back to Salt Spring to finish the video the following summer. I captured more of the nature and beauty of Salt Spring plus conducted an interview with Evelyn about her art and about Collograph as a technique.
